Job Summary

We are looking to appoint a Geomatics/Land surveyor for a project based in the Hertfordshire & Buckinghamshire area. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, confident and motivated with good communication and mathematical skills and able to work independently as well as part of a team.

It is vital that the successful candidate can demonstrate a pragmatic and proactive approach to problem-solving and an ability to liaise with site management and client’s representatives as appropriate. The candidate will be required to undertake surveying, setting out and some site supervision work while keeping records of all site activities. The work will be a mix of field-based work as well as QA reporting and CAD drafting

The role includes:

undertaking land/topographic Surveys
Analyzing data using plans, maps, charts and software such as AutoCAD civil 3d and GIS (geographic information systems) programs
calculating Earthwork volumes for Weekly & Monthly progress & for monthly valuations
Set out, level and survey operational sites
Compile quality control records
Record and monitor site plant and personnel
Production of as-built drawings and information

Essential Experience / Skills

Minimum 3+ years’ experience with Civil Engineering works or Specialist sub-Contractors
GPS experience is essential
Experience with GPS operated machinery would be beneficial
Experience with Earthwork & drainage
Ability to read engineering drawings
Experience in civil 3D cad would be advantageous
Strong work ethic and desire to progress
Interest in Drone surveying methods
Flexible in work locations

Essential Qualifications

Degree in Land Surveying/Geomatics or related discipline.
