The Roadbridge and daa project delivery team are over the moon to have the become the first Irish registered project to win a Gold Award at the 2018 Considerate Constructors Scheme Awards. These prestigious awards took place in London.
During 2017, the Considerate Constructors Scheme, which has been operating for 20 year’s throughout the UK, was piloted on a number of Irish projects for the first time. Roadbridge nominated the daa North Runway Construction Project 1, which is the enabling works project for the new North Runway to be our first registered site. The project was audited on two occasions during 2017 and the average score of the two visits placed us in the award winning category.
The aim of the Considerate Constructors Scheme is to improve the image of the construction industry, and each registered project is audited by an independent assessor around five main categories, namely: Care about Appearance; Respecting the Community; Care for the Workforce; Protecting the Environment; and; Securing everyone’s Safety. We feel at Roadbridge that these aims are part of our core ethos of being a good neighbour, so the scheme is a great fit for us, and an excellent means of driving innovations. As a result of our consistently high scores across our UK registered projects, Roadbridge were invited to become Partner members in 2015.
Since the initial pilot of the scheme in Ireland, Roadbridge have registered further projects such as Center Parcs Longford, and Oweninny Wind Farm, Co. Mayo, and look forward to building on our successes going forward.
Our statistics from 2017 from our involvement in the scheme, show the level of commitment made by the company to excel.
