A5 Western Transport Corridor – South of Strabane to South of Omagh

The A5 WTC is an 88km dual carriageway from New Buildings in Co. Derry to Aughnacloy in Co. Tyrone and is largely constructed offline. The A5 WTC is one of 5 Key Transport Corridors identified in the Regional Transportation Strategy for Northern Ireland. The route broadly follows the present A5, and bypasses provide access to towns such as Strabane, Newtownstewart, Omagh and Ballygawley. The Southern end will connect to the N2 route in Co. Monaghan
