Arthurstown Landfill – Construction and Final Capping

  • Company Involvement Roadbridge undertook all phases of the original landfill development and final capping. This was through a series of contract awards. We were the Main Contractor and PSCS for the Project and Fehily Timoney & Company Consulting Engineers were our Designer.

  • Site Clearance and preparation of Works Area
  • Bulk Excavation of 2,150,000m3
  • HDPE Liner 2mm on bottom layer and 1mm on top layer – Total 575,000m2
  • Provision of Imported Drainage Material on top of base Liner 286,000m2
  • Installation of Gas Extraction System Comprising of Deep and Shallow Gas wells and associated collection pipework (c.25km) and manifolds
  • Drainage Geocomposite. 60,000m2
  • Installation of sub – surface drainage system (c.8.6km)
  • Provision of telemetry ducting and Watermains
  • Installation of full Scada control system
  • Leachate treatment Plant 300 cubic of leachate per day
  • Landscaping (35 ha), fencing, site access roads and ancillary works
