This Project is located in north Co Dublin. The new trunk main passes through teh areas of Ballycoolen, Kilshane, St. Margarets, Kingstown and Forrest Little.

The new trunk main was required to augment existing water supplies in this area, to ensure security of supply in the future and to ensure that supply does not hamper future development. The Project comprised of :-

Key Features

  • 7.9km of 1200mm diameter Class C25 DI trunk main
  • 0.1km of 200mm diameter Class C25 DI trunk main spur to the existing Dublin Airport branch main
  • Significant underground structures to accommodate future connections to the proposed trunk main
  • 3 No. crossings of the existing 36” trunk main which provides water to 500,000 people requiring extensive pre-planning and controls to mitigate risks to supply
  • Extensive works within the existing North West Business Park with significant stakeholder interface
  • All construction works carried out in accordance with restrictions associated with working adjacent to live airport operations
