The project will consist of the construction of a 47.5 million m³ tailings facility which will be required to store the residue from the nickel extraction process. Once complete, this facility will be the largest in South East Asia. It involves shaping the existing valley edges to receive a liner and also the construction of an earth embankment berm to dam the end of the valley. The project also involves the construction of a 980m long spillway and the installation of 150,000m3 of 0.25m to 1m thick Rip-rap.
