M8-N8 Cullahill to Cashel

  • Company Involvement The M8 Cullahill to Cashel project was awarded by Kilkenny County Council under the National Development Plan. It was awarded to SRB Civil Engineering Ltd, a JV between Roadbridge and John Sisk & Son in August 2006.

This contract comprised the design and construction of 40km 2-lane motorway with 4 Interchanges and extensive earthworks, drainage, structures & traffic management through sensitive habitat including a number of cSACs. Principle quantities comprised 4.7M m³ earthworks (including300,000m3 of Peat, 1,100,000m³ rock excavation). 1 million m² of pavement, 53 no. culverts, landscaping, utilities accommodation works and other ancillary works.

The project was completed 7 months ahead of time.
