This contract comprised the earthworks, drainage, road construction, accommodation works, fencing and other ancillary works. The project comprised 23km of dual carriageway that became the new N11 National Primary Route and 2.7km of single carriageway including interchanges and local roads. Principal quantities include 2,400,000m³ of earthworks excavation including 310,000m³ of local Macamore clay, a highly moisture sensitive material which was reused as suitable material. There was 602,830m² of road surfacing. This project was completed 8 months ahead of schedule.
