Monday 10th June to Friday 14th June 2019, was Men’s Health Week in the UK, and the Roadbridge teams across our projects in Scotland and England took part in the campaign to highlight the week. The focus for was “men’s health by numbers”.
We implemented an awareness programme on every project, from putting up posters in canteens, welfare facilities, and offices; to communicating at the weekly stand-downs and Toolbox Talks.
Roadbridge also prepared men’s care packages (consisting of a basket of men’s grooming products). The idea behind this was to show that behind the macho façade, men need to look after themselves as well.
At the end of the week, each project picked a winner from the raffle entries.
Well done again to all the teams for your efforts to raise awareness and to the deserved winners. Our prize winner Denis Desmond in the London office donated his care package to Herts young homeless in Hatfield. The charity focuses on preventing homelessness – from education in schools and family mediation through to supporting 16-24-year olds in their first homes or caring for adults of all ages who have mental health issues and housing needs.
